The Grand Cru Vineyard Tour

We visit the wineries that have been the trailblazers and leaders of modern Mornington Peninsula winemaking. Learn about the history of local farming and viticulture and gain insights into lifestyles of the rich and famous. Our tour begins with a visit to Somers for morning tea before tasting wines from the region’s pioneers and the first commercial producer, Elgee Park at the Merricks General Wine Store. Then it’s over the road to Stonier for single vineyard wines from vines aged over thirty years. Next we visit the great domains of Paringa Estate and Main Ridge Estate both regarded as amongst the best cool-climate producers in Australia. We then have a two course regionally inspired lunch at the elegant, Terre Restaurant in Balnarring North before finishing the day with another regional trailblazer, Rick McIntyre at Moorooduc Estate, ensconced in his cellar-door tasting exceptional wines made with wild yeast ferment.
